Short introduction
Municipality of Jämijärvi (Latitude: 61° 49' 60 N, Longitude: 22° 40' 0 E) is located in Northern Satakunta sub-region, province of Western Finland. First all-year round residents have occupied the area since the beginning of 14th century. Independent municipal administration can be seen to start from 1852 when the first parish meetings were held and Jämijärvi Saarnahuone-municipal was established. Officially Municipality of Jämijärvi has been established 1899 even it was not separated from town Ikaalinen until 1908.
Coat of arms (Two blue barn swallows with blue traverse in golden background) is designed by Gustaf von Numers and it was fortified 1965.
